The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) has what looks like a new logo up on one of its doors at the Ipid headquarters in Pretoria, and some of the logo’s features left us wondering what the inspiration behind it was.
This new logo has not been officially published online, where the official website still bears this boring old generic logo.
We don’t blame the creative spark of genius that came up with the new logo for deciding it might be time for change.
The new logo takes the form of an eye, with a dark circle in the middle and a triangular shape inside.
It looks a lot like symbolism long associated with the Illuminati. The so-called “all-seeing eye of God” is even found on the US one-dollar bill, and conspiracy theorists the world over claim this is evidence of the “evil” founding fathers of America, many of whom were Freemasons.
The symbol can apparently be traced all the way back to Ancient Egypt, when people worshipped the god Horus.
The Illuminati, first mentioned during the French Revolution, is said to be a secretive organisation of world leaders, business authorities and other influential people who have supposedly sold their souls to the devil in exchange for prosperity. Most successful American musicians (particularly Jay Z) have also long been alleged to be connected to this sinister organisation, despite the fact that there’s no evidence it even exists.
Probably, whoever created this wonderful new logo for Ipid was probably just going for the idea that the cops are always “being watched” by Ipid, the police watchdog meant to prevent the SA Police Service abusing their power and engaging in corruption.
Below the logo are the Latin words “custos custodum”, which means “watchmen”, related to Ipid’s mission statement to be an “effective, independent and impartial investigating and oversight body committed to justice and acting in the public interest, while maintaining the highest standards of integrity and excellence”.
We’re not saying they’re actually getting any of that right, though, considering that the guy in charge of Ipid, Robert McBride, was today charged with treason, along with his supposed accomplices.
Take a look at some of the best Illuminati logos (and spoof logos) we found on the internet.
