The country will sign an official memorandum with Chad on the resumption of relations between the two countries.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu believes Israel is a “rising superpower” and is making inroads into the Islamic world following the reestablishment of diplomatic relations between Israel and Chad and following a charm offensive he made during trips to the continent over the last few years.

The Israeli premier’s confidence followed a meeting with Chad President Idriss Deby on Sunday at the Presidential Palace in Ndjamena, the capital of Chad, during which the two announced the resumption of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

“We are making inroads into the Islamic world. We are being welcomed here with respect just as we welcomed President Deby in Israel with respect. Israel is making inroads into the Islamic world. This is the result of considerable effort in recent years,” Netanyahu said in a Monday press release from the Israeli embassy in Pretoria.

“We are making history and we are turning Israel into a rising global power.”

The two sides will presently sign an official memorandum on the resumption of relations between the two countries, which they see as the key to future cooperation, and which will be of mutual benefit.
