Zuma extends employment of soldiers to DR Congo

The employment is extended from April 1, 2017 to March 31, 2018.

President Jacob Zuma on Friday announced the extension of employment of the National Defence Force (SANDF) for service in fulfilling the international obligations of South Africa towards the United Nations, in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

“A total of one thousand three hundred and seventy one (1 371) members of the SANDF were employed to participate in the United Nations Organisation Stabilisation Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUSCO) as part of the Force Intervention Brigade (FIB),” the presidency said.

The employment is extended from April 1, 2017 to March 31, 2018.
