Diezani Alison-Madueke, a former Nigerian oil minister, together with three elections officials, have been charged with money laundering.
The ex-minister was also accused of bribing officials before the 2015 elections, charges she previously denied. The BBC reported she was not present to enter a plea, and was described on the charge sheet as being “at large”.
Alison-Madueke served under President Goodluck Jonathan, who lost the elections to Muhamadu Buhari.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission said one of the three officials pleaded guilty, and the other two not guilty.
