“We are now on the brink of a recession, and we are facing a dead mountain.”-Maynier

During the last day of debate on Wednesday, the DA continued where it left off on Tuesday, accusing President Jacob Zuma of failing to use his State of the Nation Address (Sona) last week, to give hope to the country.

“President Zuma dropped the red button in December last year when turned an economic downturn into an economic crisis when he fired Nhlanhla Nene as Finance Minister.

“We are now on the brink of a recession, and we are facing a dead mountain,” DA MP David Maynier said.

In dealing with the challenges facing South Africa, he said things can be done, if only they can be done differently.

“South Africa will never belong to all who live in it, for as long as millions of people continue to live in poverty,” he said.

However ANC MP and Energy Minister, Tina Joemat-Pettersson said South African is in a better place than before and that tomorrow will be better .-stevent@citizen.co.za
