Rwanda lead Gabon at half-time break

A 43rd minute goal from Ernest Sugira gave the hosts Rwanda the lead in the first half.

The hosts dominated position in the first half, with their leading man Emery Bayisenge and Sugira causing problems for the Gabonese defence.

It was Sugira who finally broke the deadlock towards the end of the half when he pounced on a rebound from Jacques Tuyisenge’s shot.

Gabon goalkeeper Yves Moto tried to parry Tuyisenge’s shot away, but it only fell into Sugira’s path and the striker made no mistake from close range.
