Four men are expected to appear in the Ga-Rankuwa Magistrates’ Court today in connection with the murder of a teenage girl whose dismembered body was found in Ga-Rankuwa, northwest of Pretoria.

The deceased, Reneilwe Seloadi, was reported missing on Sunday, June 11, and her naked charred body was discovered three days later, said police spokesperson Kealeboga Molale.

“Seloadi’s naked body was found by the community at a secluded area of Extension 1 in Mothutlung. Her legs were cut off and scattered in the vicinity, with her lower body partially burned,” added Molale.

It is presumed that she may have been raped. Seloadi was visiting her grandmother in the area and was supposed to return home the following day but never did. A search operation was conducted, but to no avail until the discovery last Wednesday.

Molale said three men, in their 30s, were arrested on Wednesday after they allegedly assaulted a man they believed was responsible for the murder.

The three men appeared in court on Friday, June 12, on charges of assault to do grievous bodily harm, and their case was not enrolled at court so they were released. Four were later arrested the same day, as they are linked to the murder of Seloadi. The fourth suspect is the assaulted victim.

“The three suspects are facing charges of assault and murder. The one who was assaulted is only facing a murder charge,” said Molale.
