Tania Neethling, whose house was burgled, said the robbers took time before entering the house. In the footage, they are seen driving past the house several times before stopping at about 10.45am on Friday. They rang the bell a few times to see if someone was home before breaking in, Rekord Centurion reported.
Neethling addded the house alarm went off and agitated the suspects. They only stole a TV and tried to get into a safe in the house but failed.
Thereafter they broke into a nearby house on Springbok Street. The house did not have an alarm, so the thieves were able to steal a lot more before getting away.Police investigations are ongoing.
Anyone with information regarding the incident is advised to call police on 012-654-4031.
In a separate incident, two videos surfaced on YouTube showing four men unsuccessfully attempting to break into a house in Edenvale, on the East Rand, in March.
The CCTV footage shows the men approaching the front entrance to the property. They then proceed to use what appears to be crowbars to try and force open the metal gate.
After struggling with the security gate for a few minutes, the men run off momentarily before returning.
They continue to take turns trying to open the gate before apparently giving up and driving away.
