The man was found lying in front of the vehicle.

A man, believed to be 30 years old, was killed when he was knocked down by a vehicle on the N14 just after Beyers Naude Street in Muldersdrift, northwest of Johannesburg on Saturday afternoon, paramedics said.

When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene at about 1pm the man was found lying in front of a vehicle, ER24 spokeswoman Ineke van Huyssteen said.

“Unfortunately, there was nothing that paramedics could do for the man and he was declared dead on the scene by ER24.”

The circumstances surrounding the accident were not yet known, she said.
