The man was spotted by a passerby walking through a pathway in the veld.

The body of a man believed to be in his 30s was found hanging from a tree in an open veld next to Zuurfontein Road in the Chloorkop industrial area on Tuesday.

According to the Norkem Park police spokesperson Captain Lesibana Molokomme, the man was spotted by a passerby walking through a pathway in the veld at about 7am, Kempton Express reported.

“The witness called the Norkem Park police. On arrival, it was found that the man was dead. He was wearing grey trousers with a navy and powder blue top,” said Molokomme.

Molokomme said the deceased has not yet been identified.

The deceased is at the Germiston government mortuary, and an inquest docket is being investigated by the Norkem Park SAPS.

“We appeal to anyone who has information about the man or who has information about a missing person to contact the Norkem Park police.”
