It is believed he suffered a heart attack and died in his sleep.

Golfer Pablo Larrazabal posted a notice on his Twitter account late on Thursday confirming the death of Carlos Pigem’s caddie.

It alleged he suffered a heart attack in his room at a bed and breakfast in Malalane, Mpumalanga, Lowvelder reported.

Argentinian Pedro Ramseyer was in his 60s when he died.

He shared a room with Basil van Rooyen, the caddie for Thomas Aiken, who found him unresponsive in bed yesterday morning.

The Alfred Dunhill Championship started at Leopard Creek yesterday.
