A member of the Tshwane metro police department (TMPD) and her cousin were robbed at their home in Soshanguve, Pretoria.
TMPD spokesperson Issac Mahamba said the female police officer was ambushed by two men at her home in Soshanguve on Thursday, Rekord East reported.
“She and a female cousin were about to leave the house when two armed men forced them back inside,” said Mahamba.
The officer was robbed of her official firearm, and her personal vehicle was also taken, he said.
Mahamba said the robbers also took an undisclosed amount of money.
Neither of the women were hurt during the robbery.
“She [the officer] is still traumatised, and as a department we are going to ensure she has access to councillors to help her deal with the ordeal,” said Mahamba.
“We are also calling on anyone who may have information that may lead to the arrest of the perpetrators to call the police or the department on 012-358-7095/6.”
Mahamba said a case of house robbery is being investigated.
