Security guard shot dead in Vanderbijlpark

A security guard has died after being shot multiple times in Vanderbijlpark, south of Johannesburg, this morning.

According to ER24 spokesperson Chitra Bodasing Harduth, the guard was driving a “cash vehicle” on Westinghouse Boulevard when suspects opened fire. The man, believed to be in his 30s, was shot multiple times. He lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a wall.

ER24 paramedics attended to the incident and found the man in a critical condition. His condition deteriorated, and paramedics began to resuscitate him, Sedibeng Ster reported.

“Despite all efforts to save the man, he sadly died,” said Chitra.

The exact details surrounding the incident are unknown. Authorities are on scene for further investigations.
