A Sunningdale couple in Durban was tied up by armed men during a house robbery on Thursday.

Durban North police spokesperson Captain Raymond Deokaran said the incident occurred at about 2.15am on Blossom Close, Northglen News reported.

“The residents were confronted by the men, who were armed with knives. They tied the couple up using cable ties and made them sit on the ground. They then ransacked the house, stealing various items including clothes, cellphones and a Playstation. According to the homeowner, it remains unknown how the suspects gained access into his home,” he said.

Deokaran added it was unclear whether the men were on foot or using a car. This is reportedly the second incident on the same road in a space of two days.

Police investigations are ongoing.
