The dangerous murderer escaped from court after threatening the police with a firearm and was last seen in Pretoria North.

A reward of R100 000 is being offered to anyone with information about the whereabouts of a “dangerous” and most-wanted suspect.

Hawks recently made the generous offer to recapture Thabiso Ledwaba, also known as Kagiso Linken, who escaped from the Palm Ridge High Court in March, Rekord East reported.

Ledwaba escaped after threatening police with a firearm.

Ledwaba, who was awaiting sentencing after he was found guilty of the murder of German luxury car dealer Uwe Gemballa who had ties with Czech fugitive Radovan Krejcir, also faces at least nine charges ranging from murder, attempted murder, cash in transit robbery, possession of an unlicensed firearm and escaping from lawful custody.

Ledwaba had previously given the police more than seven different names, two identity numbers and five dates of birth.

Crystal van den Berg of the Crime Busters North group said Ledwaba was allegedly spotted in the Pretoria North area in June, but his whereabouts were now unknown.

Ledwaba is armed and very dangerous and members of the public are urged not to confront him but to contact the investigating officer, Lieutenant Colonel Gert Serfontein, on 071-481-3394 or e-mail: SerfonteinG@saps.gov.za, or contact Lieutenant-Colonel Danie Marais on 082-499-0158 or maraisd@saps.gov.za.
