Pupil stabbed nine times after an argument

When the argument escalated, one of the pupils drew a knife and stabbed the victim.

An unidentified high school boy is in hospital after he was stabbed nine times by a fellow pupil in Roodepoort, West Rand on Wednesday.

It is alleged an argument ensued between five boys at the bus stop on the corner of Haynes Street and Generaal Pienaar Avenue, Roodepoort Record reported.

The argument escalated as they walked towards the Witpoortjie Pick n Pay circle. Near the circle, one of the boys drew a knife and stabbed the victim nine times. It is uncertain what the argument was about.

According to eyewitnesses on the scene, the pupils were from a high school close to where the incident took place.

The boy was taken to hospital. No arrests have yet been made.

Roodepoort police spokesperson Warrant Officer Nonhlanhla Khumalo said she cannot comment at this stage as there was no case opened.

“We are still waiting for more information. I cant comment now,” she added
