Shop owner in court for allegedly attacking, raping his worker

A 40-year-old shop owner who allegedly raped his worker in Sibongile, KwaZulu-Natal, will appear in Dundee Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Provincial police spokesperson Lieutenant Nqobile Gwala said the man, believed to be an Ethiopian national, allegedly arrived at the shop at about 9pm on Friday to cash up and lock up. He allegedly suddenly attacked the victim and pushed her onto a bed before allegedly raping her.

The man was subsequently arrested by Dundee police, Northern Natal Courier reported.

Gwala said a case of rape was being investigated.
