Around 30 000 EFF supporters are expected to attend the party’s local government election manifesto launch at the Orlando stadium on Saturday, the Johannesburg metro police said.

Speaking to The Citizen on Friday, metro police spokesperson, Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said the Arnitage road will be completely blocked off between 9am and 6pm.

Other roads that are expected to see an increase in traffic volumes, include the N1, N3, N12 as well as the N4.

“We want to urge all road users who will be going to the stadium to obey all road rules and our officers will have a zero tolerance approach to motorists found transgressing the rules,” Minnaar said.

Meanwhile the party’s manifesto launch is expected to begin at 10am on Saturday.-stevent@citizen.co.za
