“South Africa is just 22 years into democracy…imagine if it was a human being, one would still have to help that person grown.”-Zuma

You can’t give birth to a child in the morning and then expect to see a grown man in the afternoon, according to President Jacob Zuma.

He was speaking about the achievements South Africa has achieved in its 22 years of democracy during the main Freedom Day celebrations held at the Giyani stadium in Limpopo on Wednesday.

“It is against science to give birth in the morning and then expect to see a grown man in the afternoon.

“In 22 years, We have done a lot for our country.

“South Africa is just 22 years into democracy…imagine if it was a human being, one would still have to help that person grown,” Zuma said.

He stressed that the country was doing well, despite the challenges experienced.

“We are solving problems which were caused by apartheid, but you hear people speak as if it was us who created the current problems.

“Let us not allow those who decided to ignore our achievements to make us think we are a failed nation,” Zuma said.-stevent@citizen.co.za
