An unidentified man was killed after he was apparently set alight on the off-ramp of the R21 in Olifantsfontein, Gauteng.
Russel Meiring of ER24 said paramedics were called to the scene on Tuesday, and on arrival, found that fire services had already extinguished what seemed to be a small fire, Kempton Express reported.
“On inspection, paramedics discovered the burned body of a man lying on the roadside. His feet had apparently been bound with wire,” added Meiring.
The identity of a man remains unknown but police have revealed his race.
“The man’s hands and feet were tied and he was found face down. We have not yet determined his age and identity, but can confirm it was a white man,” said Olifantsfontein police spokesperson Constable Mokete Serakwana.
Serakwana said a murder case was being investigated. The cause of death is, at this stage, unknown.
No arrests have been made and investigations are continuing.
