A couple in Kloof, KwaZulu-Natal, sustained injuries after they were attacked by dogs.
Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha said paramedics and the rescue unit were called to the scene in Edward Drive on Monday, Highway Mail reported.
“The couple was trying to separate a pitbull and a rottweiler having a fight when the man was severely bitten and was in a serious condition. His wife sustained several bite wounds but refused treatment,” he said.
Paramedics treated the seriously wounded man at the scene and transported him to a local hospital under the constant care of an advanced life support paramedic.
This after a seven-year-old boy was rushed to hospital with bite wounds after he was attacked by a dog in New Germany, KwaZulu-Natal last month.
ER24 spokesperson Chitra Bodasing said it is believed the boy and his friends were at his house and wanted to go to a shop when the dog attacked them.
Paramedics were alerted to the house. Upon arrival, they found the boy lying on the floor in the lounge. His sister and friends were by his side. Paramedics treated the bite wounds and abrasions and then transported him to hospital.
The circumstances that led to the incident were unknown.
