My Car Boot Sale, January 14

Sell your unused, unwanted and pre-loved items for cash from your car, or find some fantastic second-hand bargains. The event takes place from 08:00 to 12:00 at the Groenkloof Bowling Club and entry is free for buyers. Bring your pooch with because this event is dog-friendly.

Summer Rose Care Workshop, January 15

Ludwig’s Roses north of Doornpoort will be hosting a free rose care workshop from 10:30 to 11:45. Among the skills that will be showcased are summer pruning, pinching and deadheading. Fertiliser application, mulching, watering, fungicides and pesticides will help you see the best results with your roses. Booking is not necessary and an onsite restaurant is available for breakfast or lunch.

Live at Padstal, January 13 and 14

Spend a night out on the town with Pieter Rischmüller, also known as Piet Pompies, on Friday. Then come back for seconds with Danny Smoke on Saturday for some lekker local live music. The entrance is R50 at the door or on iTickets.

Johann van Heerden’s Art Gallery, January 15

Johann van Heerden’s Art and Gallery will be launching its fifth annual postcard-sized artwork group exhibition on Sunday. The opening starts at 11:00 and will run from January 15 to 30.

At the same time, catch the opening of the solo exhibition, Between the Lines by Margita Thiele. Between the Lines runs from January 15 to February 1. Body Scapes by Sue Clark, which runs until January 30, and Delicate Detail by Nadine Christoph, which also runs until January 30 will also be opening.

Meel Vignetting, January 13

Meel Vignetting will be joined by DV Burg with exceptional guitar skills, a new menu and drinks specials at the Jarr Bar and Restaurant near the Pretoria Botanical Gardens. The event is free and runs from 19:00, but table bookings are recommended by contacting Marge at 079 153 5295 on WhatsApp.

Tian Nienaber live at Salsa Menlyn Maine, January 14

Book a night out at Salsa at Menlyn Maine to see the great vibe that is Tian Nienaber. The show is free when enjoying dinner at Salsa, and starts at 19:00. For bookings, contact 012 682 0161.

Kegs Art Painting Afternoon, January 14

After a successful first painting afternoon, a second one promises to be another relaxing afternoon. The artist-led workshop by Kegs Art will tackle watercolour painting with guided steps and includes all the necessary materials as well as a beverage from the HBC Taproom. The event costs R350 per person and will run from 14:00 to 17:00. Bookings can be made at www.hazeldeanbrewing.co.za/KegsArt. Limited space is available, so bookings are essential.
