What’s new at the movies?

Angel Has Fallen is the new blockbuster action attraction at Nu Metro cinemas in Pretoria this week. The new sequel in the chart-topping movie series has special agent Mike Banning (Gerard Butler) wrongly accused of an assassination of the president (Morgan Freeman). A long way from Olympus, Banning is now the fugitive who must clear his name.

Afrikaans comedy fans should look out for Ander Mens (with English subtitles). Starring Bennie Fourie, Marlee van der Merwe and Frank Opperman. Quintin Krog directs this side-splitting action-comedy, with a series of unfortunate events happening to a very unfortunate and mediocre man.

Dive in for some deep sea horror with 47 Meters Down: Uncaged, as it enters a watery hell with four teen girls in a ruined underwater city.

The terrifying Pennywise the clown returns in IT: Chapter 2 – bookings are now open to see it first at Nu Metro Menlyn Park on Thursday, 5 September. See you at the movies!

When their worst fears are realised and the cage breaks away from their boat, they find themselves plummeting to the bottom of the seabed, too deep to radio for help, and their oxygen supplies rapidly dwindling. They quickly find their fun outing turning into heart-stopping fear when they learn they are not alone in the submerged caves…
