Pretoria fans give Boks proper send-off

“To Rassie, I say he has the toughest job now to pick his final World Cup squad.”

Over 30 000 fans came to Loftus to watch the Springboks play their final game on home soil before heading to the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan.

Having secured their first rugby championship last week, the Boks were again on the winning side, defeating Argentina 24-18.

Following Saturday’s win, fans had a mixed reaction about the home side’s performance.

Springbok fan Lehlogonolo Ditshego said that the game was great and very entertaining.

“I am glad that all the other players got some game time ahead of the World Cup because now, going onto the big stage, there will not be too much stress for the low-cap players.

“To Rassie, I say he has the toughest job now to pick his final World Cup squad,” Ditshego said.

Alex Golberg said that coach Rassie Erasmus now has a squad ahead of the World Cup.

“We will take the win, but Rassie has some answers. Faf and Jantjies are our 9s, Sbu is lethal, RG has grunt and skills, Kwagga is not an International player – sadly just does not make an impact – and overall our “B” side has what it takes to compete and win,” Goldberg said in a tweet.

“Not the best of test rugby, but the Springboks grab a win, said Skepe Matsebane.

“Sbu Nkosi will be proud of his two tries. Now we wait for the World Cup squad. Who is in, who is out? Only Rassie Erasmus knows at this point.”
