The theatre, which had presented shows at the mall for 10 years until 2012, is back by popular demand.

The new theatre has been uniquely designed inside Menlyn, featuring the familiar Barnyard atmosphere.

Ideal for any occasion, the 400-seater venue features the iconic Barnyard wooden interior and casual seating-style that creates this distinct experience.

On Thursday, young and old guests arrived for a sold-out show and a night to remember to see the newly constructed, unique and yet familiar theatre which will showcase the likes of Prime Circle, Majozi and Jan Blohm, to name a few in the coming weeks.

As can be expected from the Barnyard venue, snacks and drinks were available on arrival and champagne served to usher in a new era.

Guests were welcomed back by the performers of the rock-and-roll circus show Big Top Rock.

The local artists had the audience on their feet singing along to the likes of Elvis Presley, Elton John, Michael Jackson and ACDC.

The show featured acrobatics, trapeze, pole and silk performances.

An electric atmosphere had guests wanting more as they enjoyed popcorn and mini-doughnuts as part of the welcome back celebrations for the theatre.

The Barnyard Theatre concept was founded 23 years ago on a dairy farm in Plettenberg Bay.

Today, there are seven Barnyard theatres across the country including Rivonia, Emperors Palace, Gold Reef City, Cape Town, Silverstar and Suncoast.
