Matric twins from Centurion have qualified for the national Talent Africa competition.

Carla and Ané Els from Centurion High School will be taking part in these national championships between 25 and 30 March.

Their Sull’aria duet also scored them a first and second place with the duet named the best performance of the event.

Last year the twins brought back three prizes from the Talent America competition in New York.

The two were placed first in two of their duet performances and Ané received a first prize for her solo rendition of Ave Maria at the US’s longest-running talent competition.

Following the competition they attended various workshops by some of the best coaches, including classical tenor and vocal instructor, Robert Iovanna and singer and actress Karen Wagner.

In 2015 Ané and Carla performed in the musical Once upon a Song – The Musical directed by Nicho Barnard, which was nominated for a Naledi Award.

They also starred as extras in Barnard’s TV series The Crossing.
