The second annual Nubian Music Festival includes a larger and more diverse lineup of quality live performances, coupled with film, comedy, craft and family entertainment from 14 to 17 December at Hartbeespoort’s Eagle Waters Resort.

The Nubian Music Festival aims to make Hartbeespoort a beacon of tourism in the North West Province,” says Mpho Mathope, the founder of Nubian Touch (Pty) Ltd who created the festival.

“With this in mind, we are delighted to showcase not only Mafikizolo, Mi Casa, Lira, Oliver Mtukudzi, Selaelo Selota and Candy Tsa Mandebele amongst others on the 16th of December, but also all the fun things to do and the great places to stay at in the Hartbeespoort area for the entire weekend, Penny Lebyane will be the show MC.”

The Nubian Music Festival is excited to have secured accommodation for guests attending the 2018 festival. These safe establishments range from camping options to four-star accommodation offerings.

The home of the Nubian Music Festival does not disappoint in accommodation choices. In the R1 235.00 and above price range, Eagle Waters Wildlife Resort has fully equipped self-catering chalets, luxury tents sleeping between four and 4six people per unit and the honeymoon suite that sleeps two. There is also camping and a caravan area.

The camping and caravan area at Eagle Waters Wildlife Resort consists of 260 camping stands, with 40 being waterfront stands. All campsites feature power points, ablution blocks, and access to swimming pools, a trampoline and jungle gyms. Camping stands at Eagle Waters Wildlife Resort are R120.00 per night, with the stand taking up to six people at a cost of R50.00 per person per night. There is an R50.00 once-off payment per car.

If guests won’t be staying at Eagle Waters Wildlife Resort where the festival will be held, they have the option of considering the below establishments, which are all in close proximity to the venue: four-star graded Graceland Conference and Lifestyle Centre, four-star graded Amanzingwe Bush Lodge and three-star graded Alpha Conference Centre.

On Friday 14 December and Saturday15 December 2018, those who have booked to stay in the chalets or who are camping in their own tents or in upscale glamping tent accommodation, and the other festival accommodation establishments, will have full access to the pools, fishing facilities, water sports.

During the weekend of the Nubian Music Festival, there will be excursions around the areas unparalleled tourism experiences: safaris, tours and the cableway can be booked via info@nubianmusicfestival.co.za.

At night, guests who have booked into festival accommodation establishments will be treated to a movie under the stars and comedy from Shampoonaiza, Chris Mapane  Ntosh Madlingozi and Sammy Fever on 14 and 15 December at Eagle Waters Wildlife Resort.

The main festival will take place on 16 December 2018 and will feature Zimbabwean legend Oliver Mtukudzi and Afropop perennial favourites Mafikizolo. Latin-tinged hitmakers Mi Casa and Candy Tsa Mandebele whose sound spans house and traditional music will keep crowds dancing. Afrocentric R&B and neo-soul will be represented by Lira, Donald, Afrotraction and Encore. Afro Jazz acts Selaelo Selota, Gugu Shezi and Nigeria’s Kunle Ayo complete the line-up.

General access tickets are R300.00 and VIP tickets are R1 500.00 at www.computicket.co.za.The VIP ticket includes food and drinks.

For the younger members of the family, there will be play zones to keep them entertained as their parents enjoy a picnic, party and enjoy the festive vibes and sounds.

On Monday, 17 December 2018, there will be a chartered cruise with a champagne breakfast for people who have been staying at the resorts. Seats are limited to 80 people. The rate is R445.00 per person and people can book for this cruise by emailing info@nubianmusicfestival.co.za.

Established in 1971, as a cheetah conservation project, the centre has continued to perform an important role in the preservation and protection of cheetahs, breeding over 800 cheetah cub.
