Event organiser Cazle Hendricks said the race was getting bigger each year.

“This is our third year having this race and I’ve seen a lot of faces today. In the beginning, we only started with 16 athletes. We are fortunate and blessed to have increased the numbers this year,” he said.

“The athletes were flying down the streets and having fun.”

Hendricks thanked Tshwane metro and sponsors for supporting the disability awareness campaign.

“We would like to thank the community for coming in large numbers and supporting this awareness race. We are happy that our international athletes from Zimbabwe came to join the race.”

Anduray du Preez said the race was fun due to the perfect weather.

“I managed to finish my 21km run in 2 hours 39 minutes which is a bit slower than I expected. Last time I did 21km, I managed to clock a time of 2 hours, 22 minutes.”
