Meet Bossanova and Fire
The duo met three years ago and they had been working together ever since.
Meet two local artists with different talents Dumisani Mabuza and Thabang Ledwaba from Mamelodi East.
They belong to a band Thequalizers and though they have different talents they are going to release their first album together.
Bossanova and Fire, as they are affectionately known in the community for their lovely music, met three years ago and they had been working together ever since.
Bossanova plays percussion and Fire plays the guitar. Bossanova started music at an early age in church.
He started playing the drums at the age of 12. However, when he was old enough he attended theory classes at Cafa well known as jazz school.
Then started DJing at clubs and weddings.
Through his talent he met people like Phasedeep, Shufflemuzik and Dj Juge who came up with an idea to start a band called Maftownboys.
“I realised that I really love music and enjoyed being part of this band,” said Bossanova. However, the band separated and he later met Dj Micks from kalawa. And he started working with HeavyK “and it was like a dream come true”.
“When I was on a tour with HeavyK I met former bandmate Fire.
He was playing the guitar for HeavyK and we just connected,” explained Bossanova.
The duo decided to form a two-man band, Thequalizers.
“We are doing our own production and we are happy. Music is life for us because we are able to help our families with our pure talents” said Fire.
They will be releasing their first single titled Power. And they hope to release their first album early next year titled Move. They performed in Kenya, Tanzania, Namibia to least. To book them you can contact Bossanova on 074-693-9264.
