A prehistoric monster shark is the main attraction for full throttle action in Nu Metro’s Xtreme and 4DX cinemas at Menlyn Park this week. A deep-sea submersible, part of an international undersea observation program, has been attacked by a massive creature, previously thought to be extinct, and now lies disabled at the bottom of the deepest trench in the Pacific—with its crew trapped inside. With time running out, expert deep-sea rescue diver Jonas Taylor (Jason Statham) is recruited by a visionary Chinese oceanographer, against the wishes of his daughter Suyin, to save the crew—and the ocean itself—from this unstoppable threat: a monster of a shark known as the Megalodon. He must confront his fears and risk his own life to save everyone trapped below—bringing him face to face with the greatest and largest predator of all time.

Cursed as a child, Prince Philip Charming compulsively proposes to every woman he encounters, leaving a trail of lovesick and scorned lovers that want to wreak vengeful havoc on the kingdom. The King gives Prince Charming an ultimatum: Find true love before turning 21 birthday or lose all claim to the throne. Charming is a delightful animated musical comedy film, which features the voices of Demi Lovato, Wilmer Valderrama, Sia, Ashley Tisdale, G.E.M., and Avril Lavigne.

THE GUERNSEY LITERARY AND POTATO PEEL PIE SOCIETY (13 DLV)

From the producers of The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, and based on the internationally bestselling novel, this romantic comedy-drama tells the story of Juliet Ashton (Lily James) – a free-spirited, successful writer living in post-war London. Poised to accept a proposal from Mark Reynolds (Glen Powell), a dashing American GI, she receives an unexpected letter from a Guernsey farmer named Dawsey Adams (Michiel Huisman). Juliet impulsively leaves for Guernsey, where she hopes to write about the curiously-named book club that Dawsey has written to her about, formed by his fellow islanders under the German occupation in WW2. When her fate becomes with the society, Juliet must decide how to help her new friends and follow her heart, knowing that her life may change in ways she had never expected.

This exciting adventure film by director Ivan Botha is about more than just life and death, it tells the story of five women – Lana (Donnalee Roberts), Vivian, Adrie, Diona and Nixie – who are being tossed about by life’s rough waters and drowning in their own lives. Coincidence takes them on an adventure on the Orange River. Here the unthinkable happens when their boat capsizes, the river guide goes missing and they find themselves in a battle for survival in the wilderness. The journey irrevocably changes their lives as they struggle through the pain and fear together. Themes which the film explore include self-discovery, forgiveness, acceptance and healing.

Girls’ Night Out on Tuesday, 14 August 2018

Grab the girls and hit Nu Metro cinemas in Pretoria for some action on 14 August 2018. It is time for their next Girls’ Night Out – bookings are now open for The Spy Who Dumped Me.
