GALLERY: WWE mania hits Pretoria hard

Strawman and Samoa Joe put up a brutal and highly physical affair which had the crowd on the edge of their seats.

Thousands flocked to the Sun Arena Times Square on Friday night to witness WWE superstars live in Pretoria for the first time.

WWE RAW superstars put a five-star performance much to the delight of fans who have been waiting for years to finally see their heroes in live action.

The show opened with a tag team match, which saw Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt come up against The Bar (Sheamus and Cesaro). The Pretoria crowd chanted “Delete” whenever Hardy was on the attack.

The biggest match-up of the night was between Braun Strowman and Samoa Joe. The two superstars put up a brutal and highly physical affair which had the crowd on the edge of their seats. In the end, “The Monster Among Men” defeated Joe much to the delight of many fans who were cheering for him throughout the match.

The fifth match of the evening saw Apollo and Titus O’Neil defeat Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson in a tag team match.

That was followed by Nia Jax and Sonya Deville, which RAW Women’s champion Jax easily won to retain her title.

A surprise appearance of local rapper AKA during the showdown between Elias, Bio Dallas and Axel versus Seth Rollins, Fin Balor and Roman Reigns was well received by the crowd.

In the end, Reigns “pinned” Dallas to bring the show to a perfect end.
