The new and old comedy kings and queens to make Unisa laugh

Joining Tumi Stopnonsons on stage will be veteran comedian Legida who hails from Pretoria.

Pretoria based comedian Thabang ER, will host legendary comedian Kagiso Lediga and newcomer, YouTube sensation Tumi Stopnonsons this Saturday at Unisa.

Tumi Stopnonsons or Jumaima as he is popularly known became a household name for his hilarious YouTube videos in one of which he pretends to be a distressed young man on missing person TV show, Khumbul’ekhaya, looking for his billionaire father, Patrice Motsepe.

 

Veteran comedian Legida, who hails from Pretoria, has been nominated for numerous Golden Horn awards for his work as an actor, writer and director.

Lediga has performed at all major comedy events on the local calendar including the prestigious Cape Town International Comedy Festival, where he won the People’s Choice Award, Laugh Out Loud, Comedy Blackout and Blacks Only to name a few.

Lediga currently hosting Bantu Hour with legendary jazz musician Hugh Masekela on SABC.

 

Thabang, who is the 2017 Comics choice award nominee, said the ZH Matthews Great Hall will be packed with comedy fans.

“The line up boasts an array of nominated and award-winning comedians and an artistic diversity bound to take the audience on a comedic roller-coaster ride,” he said.

“Kagiso Lediga, graces the audience with his ‘out of this world’ humour, while multiple awards winning Elton Mduduzi shows the audience why he deserved the Comics choice award he recently scooped.”

The show will have a feminine touch of comedians Khanyisa Bunu and Thenjiwe, who will also present their sets.

“We wanted to ensure that the ladies are properly recognised in this comedy extravaganza,” Thabang ER said.

Another Pretoria comedian Peter Mashata will be in the lineup.
