Call your friends and grab your calendar because it’s almost time for The German International School’s annual Oktoberfest.

Aimed as a fundraiser for the school, Pretorians each year eagerly await the much anticipated event and this year will be no different.

Book your tickets now and join over 10 000 people in celebrating in true German tradition under African skies on 15 and 16 September.

Attend the Prost Night on the 15th and enjoy a host of craft beers while listening to the sounds of Die Lasterbacher Oompah Band, Georgetown and Dixie Hillbillies or enjoy Family day on Saturday 16 September and catch Velvet Sounds, Conrad Cronje and Band, Bad Peter, Saving Silence and Kurt Darren live on stage.

You are guaranteed barrels of fun regardless of which day you choose to become an Oktoberfester! Yes, it’s a thing…

Get a taste of Germany and nibble on delicious Eisbein, Kassler, Bockwurst and a cold draught.

Enjoy true German music in the form of Die Lasterbacher Oompah band flown in especially for the Oktoberfest, and celebrate in true German style alongside the traditionally dressed ladies in Dirndl and gents in Lederhosen.

There are also great prizes up for grabs including holidays, household appliances, power tools, technology and advanced driver’s training courses.

Enjoy real German hospitality by the parents, learners and school community at the original Oktoberfest …an authentic German experience.

Please take note that ticket prices for the different days do vary.  This year, for the first time, you can pre-book a table at R160 per person for 15 September. Bookings can be made with Sabine Fraser on fraser@dsp.gp.school.za.

Tickets for Prost Night sell for R90 (pre-sale), R110 (at the gate) and R250 for a family ticket.

Tickets for Family Day on 16 September sell for R110 (pre-sale), R130 (at the gate), R310 (family ticket), R60 (pensioners) and children under the age of 12 enter for free.

Safe parking will be provided and the festival is accessible from Simon Vermooten Road.
