This movie marks the first comedic outing for acclaimed producer, writer and director Sallas de Jager, best known for period dramas such as Verraaiers, Roepman and, recently, Free State.

It is inspired by the internet-sensation, and comedian Jonathan of Radio Raps fame, and introduces Rikus de Beer, the man behind the hilarious and beloved character, to the big screen.

“South Africans can look forward to a laugh-out-loud movie outing, filled with incidents which will keep them giggling for weeks after they have left the cinema,” said De Jager.

“Jonathan is a character that everyone can relate to in some way or another. It is very funny, but also touching coming-of-age story tailor-made to entertain cinema-goers during the December holidays.”
