The World of Wizardry Before Harry Potter is here.

Fantastic beasts and where to find Them is the new film from superstar author JK Rowling and stars Oscar-winner Eddie Redmayne in the lead role. This is the first movie release for a new series of titles over the next few years, and is not a prequel or any form of sequel to the Harry Potter movies. It is however set in the world of wizardry, years before Potter was even born.

Catch special sneak previews of the film in Scene Xtreme at Nu Metro Menlyn Park this weekend (19 and 20 November) before the official opening at on Friday, 25 November.

Rowling invites you to a new era of the wizardry world. In 1926, Newt Scamander has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizardry and No-Maj worlds.

This highly anticipated fantasy adventure promises to entice moviegoers with its powerful script, packed with suspense and memorable moments of pure cinematic magic. It casts a spell of movie fun and enjoyment that promises to please Harry Potter fans and everyone who’s looking for an onscreen escape from reality – filled with spectacular special effects to match. It is the first big movie release of the festive season, and can only be enjoyed to its full extent in 3D on the Scene Xtreme screen at Menlyn’s Nu Metro.

David Yates, best known for his work on some of the final Harry Potter films, is the director; with music by the acclaimed James Newton-Howard. Apart from Redmayne, some of the other acting talents in this piece include Colin Farrell, Ezra Miller, Jon Voight, Ron Perlman, Gemma Chan, Katherine Waterston, Samantha Morton and Carmen Ejogo.

The Scene Xtreme shows of Fantastic beasts and where to find Them will project the film on a large format screen with RealD precision white screen technology; ensuring super-crisp, super high resolution digital 3D images brighter than standard 3D – along with a full Dolby 7.1 soundtrack.
