Money-raiser for burn victim

Charity event at the Country Mountain Pub in Mountain View for Sean Smith.

A money-raising event was held for burn-victim Sean Smith on Saturday morning in Pretoria West.

The event was hosted by the Country Mountain Pub in Mountain View.

Local singer Erika SA Country Meisie and her fellow artists fulfilled their promise by putting on a

good show to help the Smith.

“No entry fees were charged, but organisers called on residents to support the cause by making

donations,” Erika said.

Artists who were willing to donate their time for the benefit concert included: Erika SA Country

Meisie, Pieter Muller, Nadia Zara, Rene Reichardt, Chall Espach, Jay-R, Angelique, Elsa Zurich, Dixi,

Chante, Fanus, Rene van der Walt, Wendy, Rayana, Natalie and Jay-Cee.

Smith (16) suffered a burn accident after he tried to assist a woman with a broken-down vehicle on 17

October.

It was reported he had used petrol to remove oil from his hands. After wiping his petrol-dowsed hands

on his shirt, the woman in distress lit a cigarette and Shean’s shirt caught fire.

He is currently recovering in Milpark Hospital, Johannesburg.
