Centurion based DJ Ms has big dreams to fulfil

”I intend of establishing my own logistics company and be an inspiration to other lady deejays”.

Centurion-based DJ Ms P who hails from Soshanguve was inspired to become a female disc jockey after seeing a well-known house DJ play their set at a party three years ago.

DJ Ms P (whose real name is Mmatefello Puseletso Ramokhoase) said her musical journey began when she started attending music classes at Foreal Academy which helped shaped her playing skills.

“I was also supported a lot by my friends and family, while participating in various fields such as drama and dancing,” she explained.

The likes of international DJ Lars Behrenroth and national DJ, DJ Vinny da Vinci have been a musical inspiration for the female DJ.

Although she has not yet released any music of her own thus far, DJ Ms P said she enjoys playing sets at various venues and keeping her audience on their feet.

In future, the 27-year-old said she intended on starting a logistics company and inspiring other young women.

“I intend to establish my own logistics company and be an inspiration to other female deejays,” she said.

Despite the house music industry being patriarchal, DJ Ms P said she would keep working hard to push boundries and make her mark in the male-driven arena.

She also urged other female artists to work hard and not limit their potential.

“Be your own leader, pay attention to yourself and your future. Let all negative remarks be a stepping stone to you doing better and never underestimate another person,” she said.
