Miss Voluptuous 2016 raises health awareness

The Miss Voluptuous 2016 contest took place for the first time on Friday in Eersterust.

The first ever Miss Voluptuous 2016 fully curvy and fully women contest took place at the Civic Centre in Eersterust on 4 March at 20:30 on Friday evening.

Organiser of the event, Beaulah Adonis, said the aim of Miss Voluptuous beauty pageant is to raise awareness about women’s health and to educate the public about the struggles these women face every day of their lives.

“The road to better health and issues surrounding being heavy boned, overweight or both, begins with self-acceptance and a healthy self-image,” Adonis said.

Women from all over Pretoria attended the event and were graced by five celebrity judges and fashion icons.

Adonis said society needs to accept all sizes and beauty.

Modeling DJ from Mamelodi, DJ Eazy E, a well-known artist around Pretoria entertained the guests.
