Chocolate Love Fun Day (7-12 yrs)

Venue: Waterkloof Lifestyle Centre

Participants each model a chocolate figurine, finger-paint with chocolate, make a choc stir (to be dissolved in hot milk) filled with delicacies and create chocolate rice cakes.

The highlight is when each participant prepares a chocolate scroll and decorates it with chocolate hearts and a message for a loved one, in chocolate. Masterpieces to be taken home. (Younger kids can be accommodated at this workshop by prior arrangement.)

Steve Hofmeyr by die Centurionteater

If you could read my mind is hierdie veelsydige kunstenaar se 28ste album-uitreiking.

Dis nie die eerste keer dat Steve hulde bring aan country-legendes nie. In 2008 het hy die album Help me through the night, wat uit Kris Kristoffersen se liedjies bestaan, uitgereik.

Tydens `n loopbaan wat meer as 25 jaar strek, ken Steve se kreatiwiteit geen perke nie, ook vir sy kwaliteit en kwantiteit by liedjieskryf, by plaaslike en internasionale musiekoptredes, in filmrolle (onder meer Platteland, Pretville en Treurgrond), in sy bekroonde boeke en by sy sterk sosiale kommentaar op vele forums.

Valiant Swart by Café Barcelona

Valiant Swart is an Afrikaans folk/rock singer from Wellington, South Africa. He currently resides in Stellenbosch. He has written and sung in English and Afrikaans.

Swart is much, much more than just another singer/songwriter, rocker or folkie. He is a poet who offers his poetry in musical form. Although he has written and sung in English and Afrikaans, it is in Afrikaans that he is at his most expressive. He pushed the boundaries and took Afrikaans to new levels by expressing it through folk and rock music.

Bestmed Tuks Race 21.1 km, 10 km & 5 km Fun Run

Venue: University of Pretoria, Sports Campus

Date: 20/02/2016

Time: 06:00

A fast route, run partly through the university campus in Pretoria and the Lynnwood residential area.

The 21.1 km race has the highest prize money in the area and there is also prize money for category winners of the wheelchair race.

There will be a family theme at this year’s event.

Medals and T-shirts will be awarded to all finishers, and prizes to category winners. BestMed t-shirts to all finishers.

Starting times: 21.1km: 6:00, 10km wheelchair race: 6:20, 10km: 6:30, 5km: 6:40 and 1km: 8:00.

Pre-entries, available at local sports stores and www.entrytime.com, will open on 4 December 2015, and will close on 16 February 2016 for online entries and 18 February 2016 for store entries. You can still enter on 18 and 19 February 2016 at the High Performance Centre, between 5pm and 7pm.  No on the day entries available for the 21.1 km. You can enter 10 km, 5 km & 1 km on race day from 4:30 to 5:50.

Weekly Sunday Evening Meditation Classes

Venue: Yoga Harmony

All of these classes provide a basic introduction to Buddhist view, meditation, and practice, suitable for beginners yet still engaging for those with more experience.
