Wild Dog Night Run/Walk

Venue: The National Zoological Garden

They’re the painted dogs of the African plains – the endangered Cape hunting dog is an icon of the veld and one of the most recognisable of all the African mammals.

It is in the light of its endangered status that the NZG, in conjunction with TrailAdventure will host a Wild Dog Night Run/Walk on Friday, 5 February 2016 at 19:00. TrailAdventure encourages people to become involved in trail running and host events throughout Pretoria and Johannesburg.

TrailAdventure have adopted the zoo’s wild dogs and will make 10% of the entry fees available to the zoo’s the wild dog programme. Refreshments will be on sale. Picnic baskets are also welcome.

Pre-entries will only pay R 75.00 per person and entries on the day of the race will be R 100.00 per person.

Zanta Hofmeyr graduated from The Juilliard School of Music where she was a student of Dorothy Delay and Hyo Kang. After her New York debut in Carnegie Recital Hall (now Weil Recital Hall), she returned to South Africa in 1985. A recipient of numerous awards and scholarships, her most recent awards include a nomination as best female artist at the KKNK arts festival as well as a SAMA nomination for her CD Cantilena. Other awards include Woman of the Year (Rapport/City Press), Afrikoon (ATKV) and a “Zanta Hofmeyr” rose from Ludwig Tassner.
