Five killer exercises to do while on holiday

Try out these five exercises to keep you fit during the upcoming holidays.

So you have decided to go on a well-deserved December holiday to the beach and you are quite disappointed to learn that there is no Virgin Active nearby.

Do not worry about getting out of shape or gaining a few during the holidays, we have got you covered with a few easy-to-do killer exercises to keep your fit physique.

1. Freehand jump squats

Since no workout is complete without working the legs, body-weight squats will make a good addition to the programme plan. Unfortunately for most people who have decently strong legs to begin with, these aren’t going to be overly challenging.

To increase the level of intensity change them to jump squats instead. This is where you will move into the squat position and rebound up and off the floor as high as possible while keeping arms crossed and parallel to the shoulders.

2. Take a jog around the block

At no extra cost, use of space in the house or effort, you can have a perfectly good workout by jogging around the house or from your house to the beach, whatever floats your boat.

On the days when you overindulge, take a quick walk just to help speed up the digestion process.

3. Do push-ups in the house

This is fairly easy, but if you seek a bigger challenge, move this exercise so the feet are raised on a surface and the body is at a decline.

Do as many as you feel comfortable with, twice per day to keep you muscles working.

4. Flat lying leg raises

This workout is also relatively simple, by requiring only some space to lie down.

Lie down on your back and simultaneously lift both of your legs up right. Steadily take them back down and repeat a few times. You will feel your legs working like crazy.

5. Do a few sit ups per day

Try doing a few sit-ups as you get up in the morning. Before you properly start your day, lie down on the ground with your feet under the bed. Do as much as you feel comfortable with.
