The streets of Pretoria will be filled with colour again when runners from across the city take part in Pretoria’s biggest, boldest and most colourful race on 31 October.

A whopping 9 500 runners took part in the Johannesburg leg of the color run earlier this year and Pretoria could attract even more runners at the “happiest 5km on the planet” to be held at Centurion rugby club.

The color run is suitable for people of all ages and abilities. Whether you run, walk or push a pram, it is guaranteed fun for the whole family.

“The color run is about being healthy, happy, self-expressive, and giving back,” says Sportsvendo CEO, Leon Swanepoel.

Sportvendo is the local licence holder of color run South Africa.

Tickets for color run cost R250 per person, R100 for students and children under the age of 10 can take part for free.

Group bookings are also available. For every ticket sold, Capitec Bank, the headline sponsor, will donate R10 to charity.

In the Johannesburg race, an excess of R73 000 was raised for adopt-a-school.

This year will be like nothing ever before, where timed glitter blasts will be used and participants can walk or run to the soleful sounds of Jacaranda FM, color run’s official radio partner.

Schools and individual charities can also use color run to raise money. Register your own school or charity on the moneyraiser programme and raise money for every ticket sold under your unique ‘fun raiser’ code.

Rekord newspaper, official print partner of color run in 2015, will be giving away five double tickets to a few lucky entrants.
