Rocking it out at the Barnyard for a good cause

Survivor musical protégé pays it forward with fundraising event.

The Barnyard Theatre Musiektskuur hosted a musical prodigy who has faced extraordinary challenges on Saturday evening. The event was held to create awareness of bone marrow cancer and to raise money for people living with life threatening illnesses.

Artist Stephan Rosenmayer was prematurely born, and spent the first nine weeks of his life in ICU after having ruptured both lungs at birth.

Diagnosed with Pervasive Developmental Disorder (Autism spectrum) when he was three, Stephan faced many medical and social challenges.

Early in his life, he began playing drums and quickly developed a skill that could rival that of drummers far older than himself.

With an extraordinary ability to touch people with his music, Stephan has extended his talent to help where he can.

Stephan’s story is an inspirational one that can bring hope and encouragement to many in need.

This was the main mission of Saturday night. Stephan R, along with many other talented musicians, came together to ‘pay it forward’ and help raise funds to help those experiencing challenges similar to those he faced.

All proceeds raised were donated to the Sunflower Fund.

It was a night of great music for a great cause.
