Footloose
In Augustus 2015 spog Hoërskool Garsfontein met hul sewende agtereenvolgende musiekblyspel.
Talle van die talentvolle leerders wat betrokke was by die produksies het na skool ‘n loopbaan begin bou in die uitvoerende kunste en hierdie produksies het die basis gevestig vir ‘n blink toekoms.
“Footloose” vertel die verhaal van ‘n jong man, Ren wat as passievolle dansliefhebber verhuis na die dorp Bomont in die VSA, waar dans weens ‘n tragiese verlede, nie op die dorp toegelaat word nie. Die verhaal neem ons op ‘n emosionele reis van innerlike konflik en aanvaarding, asook die vrees en opwinding van verandering in ‘n konserwatiewe gemeenskap. “Footloose” is ‘n musiekblyspel met polsende musiek, met bekende treffers soos Footloose, I need a hero en Let’s hear it for the boys asook ‘n storielyn wat elke kyker se hart warm sal laat klop.
Die kaartjies vir die vertoning is beskikbaar by die skool se kassiere teen R 100 per persoon.

Tweak 10 Year Anniversary Show
Tweak, South Africa’s favourite band from the late 90′s to the mid-Naughties, kick off their once-off 10 anniversary tour in August with a series of shows across Johannesburg and Cape Town. The band recently reformed for a once off single, ‘The A-Team’, which got extensive play listing across radio stations in South Africa. The members of Tweak went their separate ways in 2005 and Garth and Brendan Barnes went on to put together the hugely successful rock band, CrashCarBurn.
Tweak had a number of smash hits such as ‘House Party’ and ‘Birthday Card’ and have, for the first time ever, released their catalogue of albums on iTunes.
