Check out the weird and wonderful at The Grove Mall

Breath-taking expo at The Grove Mall sure to entertain the whole family.

If you haven’t seen the long-awaited Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! expo that kicked off at The Grove Mall on Friday 31 July, grab the kids and make your way there.

The mall has been filled to the brim with a host of curiosities and oddities, all collected by Robert L. Ripley and his heirs over the past 95 years.

“Robert Ripley was known nicknamed ‘The Modern Marco Polo’ and this expo features some of the most incredible things he collected on his journey,” said Jim Pattison, president of Ripley’s Entertainment.

“Robert Ripley made history when he made the first radio broadcast from Africa to the United States during his visit to South Africa. He travelled by boat from Cairo and arrived in Durban.”

The expo features 19 interactive stands, housing more than 140 artifacts.

The artifacts include a portrait of Michael Jackson made entirely out of dog hair, a Utah Raptor (often confused with a Velociraptor) skeleton, a child’s coffin made to look like a fire truck and a decorated and human skull.

The expo runs from 31 July to 23 August 2015. Make sure you get down to The Grove Mall to avoid the disappointment of missing the once-in-a-lifetime expo.
