Fast food giants wage a Twitter war
South African food giants recently got involved in a "twar" and things got quite funny.
Local rock band, Prime Circle, recently tweeted a picture of Nando’s butter that was served to them in a Spur restaurant.
A humorous, tongue in cheek “twar” (Twitter War) ensued, with the fast food giants taking jabs at each other.
Here is the picture that Prime Circle tweeted:

Nando’s decided to respond with a witty tweet:
@Prime_Circle Everyone wants a piece of us! There is enough of us to go around ;)

After that things escalated quite quickly:
@nandossa Thanks for trying to butter up our customers. ;) haha @Prime_Circle

@SpurRestaurant @Prime_Circle Trying? It's been done.

@NandosSA @Prime_Circle Nobody said they actually used the butter… ;)

Soon, Prime Circle even got Woolworths to join in the conversation:
@SpurRestaurant @NandosSA weren't kidding, we scooped the butter for our @WOOLWORTHS_SA muffins snack down the road. pic.twitter.com/HgoxPMAwLF

— Woolworths SA (@WOOLWORTHS_SA) July 17, 2015
@Prime_Circle @SpurRestaurant we seem to be the common denominator here *grabs popcorn with @WOOLWORTHS_SA * We've been Spurred on!
— NandosSA (@NandosSA) July 17, 2015
.@SpurRestaurant @Prime_Circle Muffin you can do about it, @NandosSA ;)
— Woolworths SA (@WOOLWORTHS_SA) July 17, 2015
And for the grand finale:
@WOOLWORTHS_SA @Prime_Circle @NandosSA Our job here is done.#Spur : Bringing everyone together over great food. ;)

We assume Spur has won this one.
