The Ice Rink – The Grove Mall

The ice rink in The Grove Mall is the first eco-friendly ice rink in Africa. Let your children experience a true winter holiday this month.

The rink is closed on Monday nights but on other evenings R20 would get you a pair of skates and R55 entrance fee would get you on the ice.

Irene Dairy Farm

Pretoria Zoo

Junior Nature Conservator

This 5-day course is presented to learners in grades 7 – 11. The course provides an opportunity for learners to be acquainted with the animals in the Zoo. Fees are R250-00 per child, from 30 June to 18 July 2015.

Meet the Birds

This course is offered to grade R – 3 learners. They will learn about the characteristics of birds with the emphasis on external features.

R100 will grant you entrance to this exciting opportunity from 9 July to 15 July 2015.

The World of Reptiles

This one-day course for grade 4 – 7 is about the fascinating variety of reptiles. A snake demonstration will be performed during this course.

R100 per child will get you in. This exciting adventure will commence at 10 July until 16 July 2015.

Scavenger Hunt

The course is offered to the grade 4 – 7 learners. The learners will explore, investigate and collect data of different species of animals.

The fee is R100 per child from 2 July until 11 July 2015.

Meet the Mammals

This one-day course is offered to grade R – 3 learners. Learners will learn about the various types of mammals in the zoo. The entrance fee will be R100 per child and it starts on 30 June until 4 July 2015.

An Introduction to Bird Identification

This course is offered to grade 4 – 7 learners. The core of this course is to excite the learners about bird-watching. R100 will get you in from 4 July until 14 July 2015.

Amazing Reptiles

The course is offered to grade R – 3 learners. The learners will be introduced to various species of reptiles housed in the zoo. This will be R100 per child and will start at 1 July until 8 July 2015.

Monkey Tricks

This course is offered to the grade R – 3 learners and aims to teach them about identification of primates, their communication, and adaptation to feeding and enrichment programmes in the zoo. R100 per child, and it starts on 3 July until 17 July 2015.

Croc City Crocodile and Reptile Park

Treat your children by taking them to the exciting Croc City Crocodile and Reptile Park five minutes’ drive from the

Fourways area.

This park now has a new Croc City Flyover activity which enables visitors to zip-line over live crocodiles – a first in

Africa.

Mystic Monkeys

Mystic Monkeys and Feathers Wild Animal Park hosts one of South Africa’s largest private primate collections featuring 44 species, in addition to a large number of beautiful exotic birds and predators such as white lions, Bengal tigers and cheetah. It is situated 85km north from Pretoria, close to the Carousel Casino.

Mystic Monkeys and Feathers Wildlife Park is home to the first two Angolan black and white colobus and bearded saki’s babies born in captivity in the country as well as chimpanzees and white-handed gibbons, two of the Big 5 in the ‘ape’ world.

Friends of the Rail

Friends of the Rail offers fun vintage steam train outings for the entire family, bringing back the old South African railway history and technology in a living museum located in a real working railway environment.
