Canon SA Pro Golf Series raging success

Children from the South African Disabled Golf Association recently enjoyed a day of fun and golf with five Golf Pro's.

Canon South Africa‘s 15th annual Pro golf series, held at the Centurion Golf Estate on Friday, aligned with the South African Disabled Golf Association (SADGA) this year.

Canon SA, the longest standing supporter of SADGA, sponsored the association for the day. The day started with golf pro’s Branden Grace, Thomas Levet, Brandon Stone, Holly Clyburn and Manuel de Los Santos hosting a special coaching clinic (first swing programme) for children from SADGA before an exhibition march.

According to Dana Eitzen, corporate communications and marketing executive at Canon SA, their involvement with SADGA stems from 2002 when Canon sponsored a cash amount for one of SADGA‘s golf days.

“We are honoured to welcome Eugene Voster, Reinard Schuhknecht, Daniel Slabbert and Ben Van Zyl to the field this year,” said Eitzen.

Eugene Vorster, CEO of SADGA, commended Canon for their support. “Apart from writing a cheque once a year, Canon has been our longest supporter (13 years) and they were also invited to this event. The children were so excited and for some this was their first time on a golf course. The main objective of the first swing programme is to give these children the chance to have fun and to create an environment where they can laugh and play.”
