Artist to be buried with dignity

Burial scheme launched as an aid to stop artists being buried like paupers.

A Pretoria West-based record label has come up with a new burial scheme designed by the Association for the Entertainers of SA (AESA).

It said the key beneficiaries would be artists in the music industry, the performing arts, and the film and television industries.

Paupers’ burials for people from these industries have become commonplace. Examples include the iconic Mahlathini and Senyaka, who reportedly died poor.

This is for this reason that the AESA in partnership with Blue Label introduced this initiative to “kiss goodbye” the synonymous paupers’ burials in the arts fraternity.

Sunshine music and distributors’ CEO Hepter Mailula said the scheme was less expensive than others.

“The burial scheme fund will reduce pauper funerals in the short-term.

Artists interested in the scheme could reach Hepter at www.associationfortheentertainers.co.za or on 076-306-4106.
