Soccer player turned DJ and loving it

DJ Sdumo’s passion for music started at an early age.

Mothokozisi Ngcobo aka DJ Sdumo (22) from Mamelodi West, Section A5 says music heals his soul. He is a producer and a local radio DJ.

His passion for music started at the age of 11, while he was still a keen soccer player and staying at the Mamelodi SOS Children’s Home.

“Coming from a disadvantaged background, music always healed my soul. I realised my passion for music when I was asked to be a DJ for the day during a soccer tournament,” said DJ Sdumo.

Surprisingly he got the crowd on their feet and he never looked back ever since. “I am inspired by Black Coffee who also started as a DJ at a young age,” said DJ Sdumo.

He studied sound engineering but could not finish due to financial challenges. He is currently working at Mams FM radio as a producer. “I love producing and I am glad I get to do something I love,” he said.

He has already produced his first album called Deep Invasion and planning to release his second album soon and has a recording label called Soul Medic Recording.
